Do I need to attend a driver training school?

While it is not required that you attend a driving training school to obtain a Commercial Driver's License, MR CDL Testing highly recommend that you receive some form of professional training from a school or someone with a great deal of CDL driving experience and/or knowledge.

Does MR CDL Testing provide any CDL training?

NO! We are strictly a test site that administers the skills test. Moreover, MR CDL Testing examiners are not allowed to train anyone whom they administer a test.

How much does it cost to take the skills test?

Full skills test (vehicle inspection, basic control skills and road test) completed at one time = $150

Vehicle inspection only = $50

Basic control skills only = $50

Road test only = $50

Abbreviated school bus skills test = $50

Lift airbrake restriction (vehicle inspection required) = $50

Lift manual transmission restriction (road test required) = $50

Equipment rental = $350

Does MR CDL Testing provide a vehicle for the CDL test?

If you do not have a vehicle for testing, MR CDL Testing can provide a vehicle for your test at a rate of $350. ($100 non refundable deposit is required prior to testing.)

Do you have to pay again if you fail?

Yes, but you only pay for the portion of the test that you failed. For example: You schedule a Full Skills Test (vehicle inspection, basic control skills and road test) and you fail the Basic Control Skills portion of the test. You have to successfully pass the Basic Control Skills test before you proceed to take the Road Test. Therefore, you would only have to pay $100 for the vehicle inspection and basic skills test. Upon retaking the Basic Control Skills test, you are required to pay an additional $50 for the retake along with $50 for the road test. Simply put, you pay for each test that you take regardless to the fact if you pass or fail.

How long do I have to wait before I retest if I fail?

The waiting period can be anywhere from 2 days up to 14 days depending on the reason for failing the test and your score.
